Your credit score will not be altered by an insurance company as most do not report to credit agencies, but if you are looking to get insurance your current credit score can effect you.

Your credit history can also affect your insurance premiums. Some insurance companies only use your credit rating to help set car insurance premiums. Other companies may deny you insurance altogether if your credit rating is very bad.

Correct. Auto insurance scoring is a "soft" hit, not a "hard" hit, and will not be counted against your score.

Most insurance companies will run your credit to be able to give you a quote. This is a soft hit and will not affect your credit score.

Yes insurance companies rates are based on your credit, but applying for insurance quote is not an application for credit and hence the credit score is not affected. This is considered a soft inquiry.

It depends on what state your in. In CA credit scores are not used for insurance.

Actually yes it will.

Insurance companies are now basing their rates partially based on peoples credit so they will have to pull your credit report which will mean a inquiry which will ding your score a couple of points.

Not fair but that’s the way it is now a days.
